Consultation on Expansion of Westbury

Nottingham City council (with the support of the Governing Body) is proposing to increase the size and capacity of Westbury Special School to 120 places. Consultation on these proposals will run from Monday 16 May to Sunday 19 June.

Letters have been sent to parents/carers of pupils, staff, and governors to outline the reasons for the proposal and offer an opportunity to respond to the consultation. There are several ways to respond:

  1. Complete the response form enclosed with the letter and return to the school office
  2. Online completion – log on to www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/westbury
  3. Email the consultation form to Jennifer Hardy: jennifer.hardy [at] nottinghamcity.gov.uk

Happy New Year

Can I on behalf of all the Staff at Westbury School wish all of our pupils their families and carers a very happy new year.

I hope that all of our pupils enjoyed the Christmas break and appreciated the gifts that they received.

The school received its own surprise over the holiday period when we were informed that £4.75 million pounds of building work has been approved to create new buildings and expand provision on the school site.

There has been a huge amount of work that has been carried out by senior staff in partnership with local authority officers over the last two years which has brought about this very welcome decision.

The improvements to the site will be beneficial to all our pupils and will be a further factor in promoting their academic success and their personal development. I look forward to keeping you informed as the plans for the delivery of the buildings are announced.

Best wishes for 2016
